Project Details
The client came to us seeking a complete master bathroom transformation. Their goals were to modernize an outdated layout, enhance storage, and incorporate a richer, more colorful design. The project began with the full removal of all existing plumbing fixtures, followed by a thoughtful reconfiguration of the space. The bathtub and walk-in shower locations were flipped to improve flow and functionality.
The new design highlights a spacious walk-in shower placed beside a sleek, modern freestanding tub. Matte black shower fixtures and a tub faucet create a sophisticated contrast against elongated green subway tiles, vertically stacked to enhance height and visual interest. To ground the bold tile, a warm wood vanity with integrated carved pulls was selected, blending natural texture with a refined modern aesthetic.
Design Challenges & Solutions
One of the key challenges was maximizing storage while maintaining a clean, uncluttered look. To achieve this, we added floating shelves above the tub for functional yet stylish display options. Within the shower, two recessed niches provide ample toiletry storage, keeping surfaces organized. Additional recessed shelving near the vanity created extra space for either practical storage or decorative accents, ensuring the bathroom is both beautiful and highly functional.
Final Result
The “Modern Green Retreat” is now a vibrant yet serene master bath that perfectly balances bold design with everyday practicality. The space feels fresh, spacious, and tailored to the client’s vision—a perfect example of how thoughtful design can elevate daily living.
Key Features:
- Design Elements: The redesigned master bathroom features a spacious, larger walk-in shower paired seamlessly with a sleek, modern freestanding tub placed alongside it for a balanced layout. Matte black shower fixtures and a coordinating tub faucet were selected to provide a striking contrast against the vibrant green wall tile. The walls are finished with elongated subway tiles, vertically stacked for a fresh, contemporary look that enhances the height and dimension of the space. Complementing the bold green tones, a warm wood vanity with integrated carved pulls adds natural texture and warmth, grounding the design while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic.
- Functional Improvements: To maximize storage while maintaining a clean and open feel, floating shelves were installed on the wall above the freestanding tub, providing both function and an opportunity for display. Inside the walk-in shower, two recessed niches were incorporated to neatly store toiletries and keep surfaces uncluttered. Additional recessed shelving was added next to the vanity, offering versatile space for extra storage or decorative display, enhancing both practicality and design.
